So I'm a little late on this, but one of my favorite artists, Girl Talk, released a new album on Monday. He is a mashup artist-- NOT A DJ-- and his work really is art. I mean, who else could think of layering M.O.P. with Miley Cyrus or Missy Elliot with The Ramones? His latest album, "All Day", overlaps 372 of these samples. My favorite is the mix of Ying Yang Twins’ “Get Low” with Simon & Garfunkel’s “Cecilia”.
There are a ton of free downloading links on Illegal Art’s website (which broke the internet on Monday and Tuesday!). Let me know what you think if you check it out! It makes for very invigorating workout jams. He played at Clark U when I was there and is really starting to blow up.
